Well, it’s that time of year again! Presents have been returned, tree recycled (if real) or put back in its box (fake), credit card bills are coming in the mail soon! Sigh!

Our nightly rates have been reduced by 20% from Friday, January 10th through Tuesday, March 31st. There are plenty of reasons to return to Lindsborg or to visit the first time. Small town merchants are friendly and helpful. Fun events, like the Swedish Luau and Chocolate Lovers Affair & Art Auction and Väffeldagen are very popular and will be here soon. Then there’s the Super Bowl and Valentine’s Day. Plus birthday and anniversary celebrations. Girls weekend! Grandparents/grandkids trip (Lindsborg has a great toy store – Trollslända)!

Saint Lucia Festival Saturday, December 14 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM This year’s festival begins with a Swedish pancake feed at the Lindsborg Evangelical Covenant Church, 102 S Washington Street, benefiting Steps to End Poverty of McPherson County , an organization dedicated to creating pathways of success for low income families. The Lindsborg Swedish Folk Dancers will also have a bake sale, beginning at 10:00 AM, benefiting TACOL (The Associated Churches of Lindsborg), funding several community programs providing for those in need.
The day will include crafts for kids, a procession of dancers to Bethany Lutheran Church for the crowning of Saint Lucia, and storytelling at various locations. Old Fashioned Christmas Saturday, December 14 5:00 PM – 8:30 PM The annual Old Fashioned Christmas celebration returns Saturday evening, December 14, at the Old Mill Museum, 120 Mill Street, where the spirit of an 1880s prairie Christmas awaits you! Enjoy the museum grounds lit by kerosene lanterns as you stroll between music, drama and children’s activities.
Enjoy a play in the train depot with performances repeating throughout the evening. Join a shepherd as he shares the traditional Christmas story in the stable. Millers provide guided tours of the 1898 flour mill throughout the evening. Warm up with tasty holiday refreshments along the way and shop for unique gifts in the museum gift shop. Freeze Your Brass Off Saturday, December 14 at 4:00 PM The traditional final concert of the season is the Freeze Your Brass Off concert in Lucia Park, next to City Hall, 101 S Main Street, Saturday, December 14, at 4:00 PM. Brainchild of talented Lindsborg musicians , the Lindsborg Landmark Concert Series delivers free concerts located in unique sites that draw many to Lindsborg. Brave the cold and come hear Wheatland Brass. But don’t just come to listen! Freeze Your Brass Off is an interactive concert, so dust off your brass instruments and bring them along. No matter your skill level, all are invited to join in playing favorite Christmas carols! Wrap up with a nice warm cup of fabulous hot chocolate, courtesy of the White Peacock Tea & Coffee Company.
Cookies with Mrs Claus Saturday, December 21 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM Have you missed seeing the Claus’s this year? Don’t worry, you still have an opportunity to bring the children by for a visit with Mrs. Claus! Come by First Bank Kansas,118 N Main Street, between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 21, to share Christmas wishes with Mrs. Claus.
